The "Skills Challenge" is a popular fellowship for our Commercial League Pass Partners, featuring over 50 first-year athletes from the Class of 2028 focused on Sales and Trading. Approximately 50% of the 2025 roster advanced to Phase 2 of the Spring League, positioning them ahead of the curve for Early Insight Program opportunities and/or sophomore internships by year-end.
We are proud to announce that six alumni from our 2023 Skills Challenge roster and eight alumni from our 2024 Skills Challenge roster have successfully secured summer internships at Morgan Stanley for the summers of 2025 and 2026, respectively. This achievement highlights the positive impact of Morgan Stanley's sponsorship on our Skills Challenge Fellows.

Over 50 Skills Challenge Fellows shared information about their specific fellowship experience with MS. This not only aids them in making future career decisions but also helps raise standards within our League. Our goals were to showcase successful trends, identify areas for improvement, and highlight best practices and standards through our "5C" framework of career, coaching, community, competition, and curriculum.
Fellows believed that their fellowship experience thoroughly prepared them for future careers in the sales and trading industry. It provided them with specific insights into FID and IED, as well as the differences and similarities between the two business functions.
Phase 2 Fellows raved about their experience working with FID and IED mentors throughout the team competition phase. They appreciated the significant amount of time and effort the mentors dedicated to helping them prepare for their final presentations and much more!
Building on the strong coaching they received from their MS mentors, our Fellows felt that meeting regularly with their team’s mentor(s) fostered a strong sense of community. This has made them excited and confident about applying to future opportunities at the bank.
Fellows greatly enjoyed their experience working on a case study that centered around creating a $2.5 million retirement portfolio for a Morgan Stanley client. Some specific highlights included collaborating with fellow athletes in the program, working closely with their mentors from Morgan Stanley, and gaining a deeper understanding of Fixed Income and Institutional Equities.
Fellows praised the Phase 1 and Phase 2 curriculum, made possible by Morgan Stanley's partnership. In Phase 1, Fellows completed three mock interviews to advance to Phase 2, requiring them to prepare diligently. Phase 2 Fellows loved learning about the mechanics of creating a stock pitch. Highlights included conducting a P&L scenario analysis & performing a risk assessment.

All Fellows began their Skills Challenge fellowship journeys in Phase 1, known as the "Individual Competition." During this three-week "regular season," they participated in three rounds of mock interviews. These interviews were scored and evaluated by MAP alumni, with the goal of motivating all Fellows to channel their competitive spirit and secure the #1 spot on our Leaderboard Rankings.
Sponsored by Morgan Stanley, the Fellows simulated interviews for the role of "2026 Fixed Income Summer Analyst" at the bank. This experience provided insights into Morgan Stanley's unique offerings and taught our athletes how to pursue specific roles at MS in the future.
Morgan Stanley exceeded expectations as a Title Sponsor by pairing each of the eight Phase 2 teams with one Fixed Income mentor/coach and one Institutional Equities mentor/coach. We would like to extend our gratitude to the following Morgan Stanley professionals who volunteered as mentors, including two of our alumni, Dubem Amene and Ernie Robertson!
All Fellows impressed our team during the individual competition; however, the following five athletes distinguished themselves and achieved the highest scores on our leaderboard:
1. Lucie Schroeder
2. Caitlin Garrett
3. Colleen Maloney
4. Elizabeth "Liza" Brown
5. Hailey Wong
