"Game Managers" is a new fellowship created for our Commercial League Pass Partners, aimed at discovering talent in product management and product innovation. It is open to both freshmen (Class of 2028) and sophomores (Class of 2027).
During the 2025 Spring League Season, approximately 40% of our "Game Managers" advanced to Phase 2 of the competition. Top performers, particularly those from the Class of 2027, are in an excellent position to secure highly competitive offers in technology and business data for the Summer of 2026.
Over 20 "Game Managers" shared information about their specific fellowship experience with Microsoft. This not only aids them in making future career decisions but also helps raise standards within our League. Our goals were to showcase successful trends, identify areas for improvement, and highlight best practices and standards through our "5C" framework of career, coaching, community, competition, and curriculum.
Many fellows felt that their fellowship experience provided moderate preparation for careers in product management, but many are still uncertain about the day-to-day responsibilities of a full-time PM.
Fellows mentioned that they would have liked more access to Microsoft professionals, specifically during the team competition. Several suggested meeting with PMs from Microsoft for a Q&A styled panel discussion.
Fellows believe their fellowship experience could have been improved by connecting with more PMs at Microsoft, who could have offered additional guidance during the team competition and daily interactions with AI.
The fellows generally enjoyed their experience building an AI training copilot for professional athletes. However, they expressed feeling lost at times due to challenges in scheduling meetings with their Microsoft points of contact for clarity.
Fellows praised the Phase 1 curriculum, stating they felt adequately prepared for future behavioral interviews. However, they believed that the Phase 2 curriculum could have included more insights specific to product management.
Grading Scale: A+ (97-100) | A (93-96) | A- (90-92) | B+ (87-89) | B (83-86) | B- (80-82) | C+ (77-79) | C (73-76) | C- (70-72) | D+ (67-69) | D (63-66) | D- (60-62) | F (0-59)
All Fellows began their Game Managers fellowship journeys in Phase 1, known as the "Individual Competition." During this three-week "regular season," they participated in three rounds of mock interviews. These interviews were scored and evaluated by MAP alumni, with the goal of motivating all Fellows to channel their competitive spirit and secure the #1 spot on our Leaderboard Rankings.
Sponsored by Microsoft, the Fellows simulated interviews for the role of "2026 Summer Product Management Intern" at the company. This experience provided insights into Microsoft's unique offerings and taught our athletes how to pursue specific roles at Microsoft in the future.
We look forward to seeing the 2025 roster secure internships in technology, business data, data analytics, and more in the coming months as tech recruiting opens up.
All Fellows impressed our team during the individual competition; however, the following five athletes distinguished themselves and achieved the highest scores on our leaderboard:
1. Sophia Simenz
2. Simone Ashford
3. Olivia Martin
4. Aoife Turner
5. Blair Davis
The top performers from Phase 1 of the "Game Managers" fellowship earned the opportunity to participate in a case competition sponsored by Microsoft. Organized into teams of 5, each team was tasked with developing an AI-driven sports training copilot.
