Make-A-Play provides stipends to every intern that matches to an unpaid internship with a MAP Partner. We recognize the unique challenges that preclude many underrepresented students and student-athletes from entering competitive industries. Through this program, students who match to an internship with one of our Make-A-Play sponsors receive financial assistance and a full range of support services during their summer internship period.

The program provides students with the tools to successfully navigate corporate spaces, develop meaningful work experience(s), and build relationships with other like-minded individuals and professionals in sports & entertainment. The program also promotes our six plays and encourages students to be well-balanced individuals and to make positive strides on-and-off the field.

If you are one of the recipients selected for an internship through MAP, you will automatically qualify for a stipend provided you meet the requirements listed below.

"Working at a high-profile agency was the highlight of my professional career. But it also came at a cost...literally. As an intern, I worked 50 hour weeks for free and also had to pay to relocate for the summer. While I'd do it again to get my foot into the industry, I want to make sure that those who charter the same course after me have the financial support to focus on learning and developing their skills; not finances.

After my sophomore year, I received an internship offer from the media company I'd idolized since I was young. But it required me to relocate from Maryland to New York City and to work for free. Even though I tried in more ways than one to make it work, I didn't have the money or network of support back home to afford housing, tranportation or food. Make-A-Play's scholarship program hits home for me especially because it ensures that other students in similar circumstances won't have to say no to opportunities because of financial reasons.

Requirements if selected
