RECRUITMENT AND EVENTS

RECRUITMENT

The Make-A-Play team visits different colleges and universities throughout the year to recruit students for different programs. The team hosts information sessions and participates in career fairs and diversity panels to find qualified candidates from underrepresented communities on campuses nationwide.

During our visits, we connect students to our wide range of career training programs, in addition to our internship program. We meet with students from a variety of different backgrounds and encourage them to apply for our D-League and Training Camp.

We also provide supplemental support to schools and Athletic Departments, and collaborate with them to attend and host in-person events, ranging from professional development workshops to panel discussions.

  • If you’re unable to attend an on-campus event, we also host recruitment webinars, Twitter chats and more so you can learn about the Internship Program directly from the team.
  • If you are a school or campus interested in hosting a MAP info session, please email.

EVENTS

Make-A-Play Foundation hosts several events throughout the year in an effort to raise awareness, honor our supporters and, most importantly, celebrate our interns. Our goal is to facilitate opportunities for the Make-A-Play Community and our interns to develop and sustain impactful relationships.

Our Annual Draft Day Weekend is a culmination of our efforts to celebrate our interns' hard work and dedication inside and outside of the classroom. Though we’ve preselected and notified our class before draft day weekend, we formally announce which organization they will intern with and their track (business, law, talent representation, college athletics, front office, and design).

On day two, each intern will be required to attend our Summer Intern Mini-Camp – a crash course in arming interns with the tools required to be successful in their respective summer internships. Our interns will attend a full-day of interactive coaching sessions, participate in a group case study, a closing pitch, and engage in other skill-building exercises.

To celebrate the MAP community, our multi-regional staff will gather in Atlanta, Georgia each summer to participate in our annual 7-on-7 Flag Football Tournament. Participants compete for bragging rights and enjoy a full day of networking and fellowship.
