We highlight six "plays" that all of our MAP Players must make to meet the standards of competitive industries including sports, entertainment, and beyond. Our playbook promotes everything from building a strong resume and professional contact list to managing personal finances and coping with stress on and off the field.
As a part of our mission—and to ensure our ideals are reflected in the students that participate in our program— these six principles represent our students' capacity to be successful. These principles should be applied in everything that our students do and they include:
"Power Skills"
We teach MAP Players how to leverage their athletic experience as a 'power skill.'
"Management Skills"
We teach students how to successfully manage their time, data, and tasks in between.
"Communication Skills"
We show students how to communicate their stories to identify shared relationships.
"Presentation Skills"
We teach students how to present themselves and their ideas to gain social capital.
"Leadership Skills"
We outline ways for students to become student-leaders on their campus and beyond.
"Personal Growth and Wellness"
We work to increase students' awareness of obstacles surrounding health and wellness.
